Republicans and Democrats alike continue to banter back a forth about how we all need to work together to move this Country forward. The problem I see is that no one really wants to work together at all.

It’s about POWER, MONEY, CELEBRITY and CONTROL.  I struggle everyday with the fear that this Country will never get on the right track politically. I keep asking myself, "what will happen to this Country if we continue to have the us and them mentality"? 

Well, I guess that’s easy enough to answer. We will continue on this downward spiral that we are on, and we will continue to lose whatever global power and wealth we have left. Don’t the powers that be realize that no other Country has been able to defeat us when we are united? We have only been beatable when we as a Country are divided. 

As far as I can see, it is a brilliant plan; powers outside this Country seem to be saying, “if we can’t beat them through attacking them, let’s get them by fueling the fires of division, siblings against siblings, parents against children, family members against family members, friends against friends, moreover, fellow citizens against fellow citizens. Let’s help facilitate the financial downfall of America. Let’s watch them point fingers and blame each other like the spoiled crying babies they act like. Americans will be so busy fighting amongst themselves they won’t even notice everything around them crumbling.” Like I said, brilliant. 

The plan seems to be working, and seems to be very successful. One side gets into power and overturns everything the other power put into place without any compromise on either side. Of course, we cannot get anything accomplished with this kind of leadership. Our leaders aren’t leading at all. No, they are leading us, into total failure that is unless they start to work together. 

Even with the recent terrorist attack in Arizona we can see just how divided we are. Not 15 minutes after innocent people were shot instead of rallying around the families and community, politicians and media people blamed people on the other side of whatever they believed, and we fell right into the trap and encouraged them on. 

We blame the politicians for hate talk, when we spew hate every day. I read the posts of people that disagree, and it is mean and hateful and divides people every day. All the name-calling is over the top. People have defriended friends because they disagree politically. What is going on? It is NOT that serious people, I promise we can disagree and still like and respect each other. We are NOT clones of one another. I am saddened by what we have become. 

We were all raised in different ways. We are who we are because of our experiences in life. We believe what we believe because of our experiences in life. I have reasons for believing the way I do, just as you do. We are all right based on our experiences. If we are name calling and hating each other because of our different beliefs that’s telling the other person that their life is invalid. 

Some information we have been given may have been wrong. Some information withheld or changed. Allow people to share what experiences they have and maybe we might learn something. Debate until there is nothing left to debate. Agree to disagree, then, GET OVER IT!!!!

If people can’t be your friend because you disagree, then they were never your friend to begin with. Cry, scream and yell for the friendship you THOUGHT you had and MOVE ON!!!
